Kirkin’ of the Melrosian

On Sunday we have the Kirkin’ of the Melrosian in Melrose Parish Church. At 10.45am the Melrosian will lay a wreath at the war memorial. This will be followed by worship at 11.00am.

Melrose services are livestreamed, and you can watch on our Facebook page or church website. A worship podcast based on the service will be posted on the church’s Facebook and Instagram pages on Saturday evening. You can listen by phoning 01896 808551.


Church Choir

The Choir will have a final rehearsal before the summer holidays on Sunday at 9.45am. Rehearsals will resume on Sunday 1 September.


Coffee After Church

Teas and coffees are available after the Melrose service in the Church Hall. All are welcome and if you would like to join the rota of helpers, please send a message to the office.


Bowden Community Cafe

The Bowden Community Cafe meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 11am in Bowden Village Hall. The next Cafe is on 19 June 2024. All very welcome.


Open Door

Come along to our weekly Open Door every Thursday, 10.00am-12noon, when the hall will be open for tea, coffee, company and chat. If you would like to join the rota of helpers there’s a sign-up sheet in the church kitchen. Thank you!  


Musical Memories 

For people living with Dementia and their partners or carers.  In the Blue Room at Langlee Community Centre, Galashiels from 10.30 – 12.00 on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. Old Melrose Guided Walks

A guided walk through 2000 years of history.  Tuesday afternoons – 2nd July, 6th August, 3rd September and 1st October.  Meet at Old Melrose Tearoom at 1.30pm. Adults £4, children free, dogs on lead at all times. Contact:  omwalks@gmail.com


Worship and Fellowship at St John’s

We meet in St John’s Care Home on the second Tuesday of the month at 2.00pm for a short service of worship followed by afternoon tea. Our next service is on Tuesday 9 July. You are warmly invited to come along and share this time with the residents.


Messy Church

Messy Church meets on Sunday afternoon at 3.00pm in Melrose Church and Hall. We’re having a break over the summer. The next Messy Church will be on Sunday 8 September.


Galashiels Foodbank

With the cost-of-living crisis many are seeking help from the local Foodbank. Donations of food can be left at the pickup points in Galashiels at ASDA, M&S, Poundland, and Iceland, as well as Co-op stores in Melrose and Earlston. Eco Congregation

We collect and recycle stamps (World Mission project to help establish tree nurseries in Central Africa), and specs (for re-use in the Philippines). We also have collection boxes for batteries and printer cartridges…. PLEASE NOTE The Food Bank no longer needs egg boxes and the collection of plastic milk bottle tops has stopped.
