We meet for worship at 9.30am in Bowden Kirk, 11.00am in Melrose Church. The theme will be Jesus among Friends. Melrose services are livestreamed, and you can watch on our Facebook page or church website. Messy Church

Messy Church is on Sunday afternoon at 3.00pm in Melrose Church and Hall. There will be a family theme as we celebrate Mothers’ Day with story, song, craft, games and fun. Messy Church is for families however members of the congregation are most welcome to come along and watch or join in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Lent Study Group

Holy Trinity Church is holding a Lent Study Group in the Trinity Centre at 11.00am on Fridays from 23 February for five weeks. The focus will be on “Jesus the healer”, explaining the difference between curing and healing; the place of spirituality in a modern scientific world; working through some of the healing miracles of Jesus and learning from them. The Group will be co-led by Claire Nicholson, curate at Holy Trinity and a consultant Paediatric Neurosurgeon. You are warmly invited to attend.

Worship and Fellowship at St John’s

We meet in St John’s Care Home on Tuesday afternoon at 2.00pm for a short service of worship followed by afternoon tea. Services are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 2.00pm. You are warmly invited to come along and share this time with the residents.

The Kirk Session meets on Thursday 14 March at 7.00pm in the Church Hall.

Celebrate St Cuthbert’s Day

Celebrate St Cuthbert’s Day, Wednesday 20 March, with a guided walk around Old Melrose led by Dr Margaret Collin, followed by a short time of worship. Meet in Old Melrose Car Park for a 2pm start.

Concert in Bowden Kirk

Octavoce, an acclaimed eight-part vocal ensemble based in Edinburgh, will be giving a concert ‘Songs of Spring’ in Bowden Kirk on Saturday 23rd March at 2.30pm.  Tickets at the door £10.00. All very welcome.

Old Melrose Guided Walks

A guided walk through 2000 years of history.  Tuesday afternoons – 2nd April, 7th May, 4th June, 2nd July, 6th August, 3rd September and 1st October.  Meet at Old Melrose Tearoom at 1.30pm. Adults £4, children free, dogs on lead at all times. Contact:

Church Choir

The Choir rehearses in Melrose Church on Sunday mornings at 9.45am. New members always welcome!

Coffee After Church

Teas and coffees are available after the Melrose service in the Church Hall. All are welcome and if you would like to join the rota of helpers, please send a message to the office.

Open Door

Come along to our weekly Open Door every Thursday, 10.00am-12noon, when the hall will be open for tea, coffee, company and chat. If you would like to join the rota of helpers there’s a sign-up sheet in the church kitchen. Thank you!

Bowden Community Cafe

The Bowden Community Cafe meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 11am in Bowden Village Hall. The next Cafe is on 20 March 2024. All very welcome.

Galashiels Foodbank

With the cost-of-living crisis many are seeking help from the local Foodbank. Donations of food can be left at the pickup points in Galashiels at ASDA, M&S, Poundland, and Iceland, as well as Co-op stores in Melrose and Earlston. Money to buy perishable items can be donated at Thank you!

Eco Congregation

We collect and recycle stamps (World Mission project to help establish tree nurseries in Central Africa), small egg boxes (for the Galashiels Food Bank), specs (for re-use in the Philippines), plastic milk bottle tops (supporting cancer and palliative care charities). We also have collection boxes for batteries and printer cartridges…. PLEASE NOTE We are no longer collecting blister packs as there is no-one prepared to recycle them.
