We have a church coffee morning on Saturday 4 February from 10-12 noon in Bowden Village Hall in aid of Church Special Projects. There will be stalls and a raffle for which donations are most welcome.


Sunday worship

‘First Disciples’ is the theme of our Family Service on Sunday at 10.00am in Melrose Church Hall. A warm welcome is extended to all. Rev Sara Embleton will be conducting worship at 9.30am in Bowden Kirk, 11.00am in Melrose Church.

The services in Melrose are livestreamed and you can watch on our Facebook page or church website. A worship podcast based on the Family Service will be posted on Facebook and Instagram on Saturday evening. You can listen on 01896 808551


Open Door

Come along to our weekly Open Door every Thursday, 10.00am-12noon, when the hall will be open for tea, coffee, company and chat. If you would like to join the rota of helpers there’s a sign-up sheet in the church kitchen. Thank you!


Melrose Historical & Archaeological Association

The next lecture evening will be held in Marmion’s@The Wynd at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday 7th February, when John Wood will be presenting an illustrated lecture on – ‘The Earl of Buchan’s Dryborough 1785-1829’. All are welcome. Free to members. £4 for visitors.


Bowden Community Café

This continues to meet on the third Wednesday of each month. In Bowden Village Hall at 11am on 15th February 2023. All welcome.


Church Magazine

We will be publishing the Spring Church Magazine at the beginning of March. Any contributions will be gratefully received! Please send to the minister and the Church Office by Friday 24th March 2034. Thank you.


Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

We will be Celebrating the Lord’s Supper in both Bowden and Melrose on Sunday 26 February.


World Day of Prayer

Each year all the churches in the parish come together to mark the World Day of Prayer. This year’s service will be held in St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Church at 2.30pm on Friday 3 March. A warm welcome is extended to all.

Galashiels Foodbank

With the cost of living crisis many are seeking help from the local Foodbank. Donations of food can be left at the pickup points in Galashiels at ASDA, M&S, Poundland, and Iceland, as well as Co-op stores in Melrose and Earlston. Money to buy perishable items can be donated at

Church Choir

The choir rehearses on Sundays at 09.45am. Any additional members will be made very welcome. Thank you.


Coffee After Church

Teas and coffees are available after the Melrose service in the Church Hall. All are welcome and if you would like to join the rota of helpers, please send a message to the office.
