We meet for worship on Sundays at 9.30am in Bowden Kirk and 11.00am in Melrose Church. The minister is on holiday so on Sunday 25 September members of the Kirk Session will lead a service of Psalm Praise. Worship on Sunday 2 October will be conducted by Rev Sara Embleton. Melrose services are livestreamed, and you can watch on our church website or Facebook page or catch the recording thereafter. There will be nor worship podcast this week.
Pastoral Cover
The minister is on holiday from Wednesday 21 September – Thursday 6 October. Pastoral cover will be provided by Rev Sheila Moir, Dryburgh District Churches.
Church Choir
The choir rehearses at 9.45am on Sunday mornings in ‘the upper room’ in Melrose when anyone who enjoys singing will be made very welcome.
Shoebox Appeal
Leaflets for the Blythswood Care Shoebox appeal can be picked up in the church or can be downloaded from https://blythswood.org/shoeboxappeal/ Boxes can be returned during our Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 23 October or thereafter. The final collection date has not been confirmed yet.
Crossreach Christmas Catalogue
Crossreach is the social care arm of the Church of Scotland. You can support their valuable work by buying from their Christmas catalogue. https://shop.crossreach.org.uk/ There are a few copies available in both church buildings.
Pastoral Care
There will be a meeting for all those interested in getting involved in pastoral care on Thursday 13 October at 7.00pm in Melrose Church Hall.
Eco Congregation
We registered as an Eco Congregation just before lockdown….There will be a meeting for those interested in developing this on Thursday 20th October at 7.00pm in Melrose Church Hall.
Coffee After Church
Teas and coffees are available after the Melrose service in the Church Hall. All are welcome and if you would like to join the rota of helpers, please send a message to the office.
