Church Secretary – Bowden and Melrose Church
We have a vacancy for a part time secretary/administrator. 10-12 hours per week. £12.70 per hour. We would expect the successful candidate to be in sympathy with and supportive of the ethos of a faith-based organisation. The role entails the provision of administrative and communication support to our church community. Duties include bookkeeping, banking and managing the church diary. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. Sunday Worship
We meet for worship at 9.30am in Bowden Kirk and at 11.00am in Melrose Church. Over the Sundays of Lent and Easter we will be focusing on different places in the story of Jesus. This Sunday it’s Jericho, remembered in the Parable of the Good Samaritan and the story of Zacchaeus. We’ll continue to pray for the dreadful situation in Ukraine. Whilst signing in for Track and Trace is no longer required facemasks must be worn, unless exempt, and 1 metre distancing observed, 2 metres for those unmasked. You are asked to take a Lateral Flow Test twice weekly, ideally before meeting up with those from other households.
Fundraiser for Ukraine
There will be a Coffee Morning Fundraiser for Ukraine on Saturday 2nd April from 10-12noon in Bowden Village Hall, organised by the Hall Committee. Stalls include Cake and Candy, Cards and a Raffle. Donations welcome. (Baking for sale should be bagged with a list of ingredients).
Lent Study Group
The minister continues to lead a series of Lent studies based on the hymn ‘There is a green hill far away’ on Monday afternoons at 2.00pm in Melrose Church Hall. Each one stands alone. Come along when you can!

The St Cuthbert’s Way Churches Together have produced a resource for those walking St Cuthbert’s Way – A Border Pilgrimage. Copies are available in both churches. Please take some for any friends or visitors who are coming to walk.
Flowers
Thanks go to all those who purchased flowers from the Gattonside porch over the past few months. This has raised a grand total of £250 for the Church Flower Fund. The flowers were made available through Philiphaugh Estate Gardens, through Yvonne and Alan, and a big ‘thank you’ goes to them.

Teas and coffees are available after the Melrose service, in the Church Hall.
